〜 Aiming to Be a Community-Oriented Real Estate Company 〜
Retro Fudosan is a real estate company specializing in traditional Japanese houses (kominka) on Ikuchijima Island, located in the heart of the Shimanami Kaido, a renowned cycling route. Established in 2025, we introduce charming properties unique to the island to those considering relocation or the restoration of traditional homes.
After traveling around the world in 2023, we explored various locations across Japan in a self-built camper van to find a new place to settle. During this journey, we were captivated by the rich nature, warm climate, and beautiful landscapes of Ikuchijima Island, leading to our decision to move here in 2024.
Buying or selling real estate is one of the biggest decisions in a person’s life. As a local real estate company deeply rooted in Ikuchijima Island and the Shimanami Kaido, Retro Fudosan is committed to providing trusted and personalized services. We especially focus on the sale and restoration of traditional homes, helping to preserve the island’s charm for future generations.
We have extensive experience handling short-term rental (minpaku) permit applications and operations in both Tokyo and Ikuchijima.
For clients purchasing properties for short-term rental use, we provide comprehensive support, covering everything from administrative procedures to ongoing operations.
In addition, our company works closely with an international tax and accounting firm where our representative, a U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), is affiliated.
This allows us to offer a one-stop service encompassing business planning, accounting, and tax advisory support related to property acquisition and short-term rental operations.
We regularly share information on attractive traditional properties and the latest real estate listings on our Instagram. If you’re interested, be sure to follow us to stay updated!
